Puns and encouragement and sings.

I was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine. The last three years of a bloody, unjust war—filled with a knot of insoluble contradictions—have led to a moment where Ukraine risks being forced into a "peace" that could make the division of the country inevitable. A nation with a long history of resilience is once again changing beyond recognition.

Everything that has happened in the past decade has compelled me to revisit my country's history, rethink its narratives, and shift my perspective. In this process, I found myself drawn to the study of historical war medals—tangible evidence of real decisions and their consequences. This research ultimately inspired a series of military medals crafted in textile.

Interestingly, many medals have been awarded for acts of civil bravery. One that particularly caught my attention was the Swedish Medal for Noble Deeds, introduced in 1832 to honor acts of personal bravery in a civilian context. It recognized not only the heroism of saving lives but also courage, resilience, and presence of mind.
